Hasselblad Fact Friday

I will be posting a new informative Hasselblad fact every Friday. See just how much of a Hasselblad connoisseur you really are...

Here is an interesting tidbit of info. Did you know that Hasselblad lenses each have their very own central shutters?

Having a central shutter one each lens allows you you to have faster flash sync speeds than with focal plane shutters. Where many DLSR's have only a 1/200" or 1/250" maximum sync speed, the central shutters on Hasselblad lenses allow for up to 1/800" sync speeds! This means you can really work with ambient light in ways that you never thought possible and allows you to take your studio outside for a whole new world of possibilities.

Adobe Supports Hasselblad RAW Files

Adobe Labs has announced Camera Raw 5.4 release candidate on the Adobe website for support of 18 Hasselblad digital cameras using 3FR. The release candidate status means the software is stable and ready for user testing, but is not the final release version. The download may be accessed HERE

Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop CS now join Apple Aperture as mainstream image applications that can develop the Hasselblad 3FR file, a 16-bit RAW format used in both H3D D-SLR systems and CF-digital backs.

Enjoy!
